Mr Brian Murphy – Head of Planning, Performance and Project Management in Primary Care for the HSE will set the scene on how plans for further development in the area of Community Healthcare services is very much part of the solution to hospital over crowding
The unstoppable drive towards community healthcare will be discussed by Brenda Reginatto – Lead Researcher for Connected Health at UCD
Dr Susie Clarke will discuss how we measure success for Community Based Healthcare using The National OPAT Programme as one example of a world-class clinical home service that has contributed to returning approximately 70,000 bed days back to the acute hospital sector since 2013.
TCP will be represented by Group Operations Director Mr Padraig Duff who will discuss new models of care that are available across a wide range of therapeutic areas.
The infrastructure to support clinical services in the home, and the underlying technology to enable these to be provided at national scale, fully exist in Ireland today, and are capable of significant expansion to directly alleviate the growing trolley crisis throughout the acute hospital system. The sophistication of the services model available is among the best in the world today, and is an understated example of excellence and innovation in Irish healthcare.
