  • The Garda Medical Aid Nursing Team provided by our partner TCP Homecare provides fast access to short term nursing support in your home 7 days per week and facilitates early discharge from hospital once approved by your treating Physician.
  • TCP Homecare are a clinical homecare company employing experienced and highly trained community nurses across Ireland.
  • These nurses will assess you and provide nursing care.
  • Your Hospital Consultant can refer you to the St Paul’s Garda Medical Aid clinical Homecare Service once you are medically fit to be discharged from acute hospital care.

What is this for?

  • If you are in hospital, or an outpatient your hospital doctor can organise for you to access this service, if it is appropriate. 
  • TCP Homecare can help support you to go home sooner or prevent your admission to hospital by providing care in your home, primary care center or nursing home.
  • Your Hospital Consultant will always retain clinical responsibility for your care whilst on service

  • IV Antibiotics at home
  • Acute Wound Care include Negative Pressure Dressings
  • Stoma Care
  • Catheter Care
  • Administration of subcutaneous medication
  • Medication management

Who provides this service?

  • The St Paul’s Garda Medical Aid Clinical Homecare Service is provided to you by TCP Homecare.
  • TCP Homecare will contact you in advance to arrange a suitable time for the nurse to visit.
  • St Paul’s Garda Medical Aid funds this service and there is no charge to patients.
