Sustainability
Overview
At TCP Homecare, as part of PHX Ireland we are deeply committed to building a more sustainable future for our communities, our customers and the planet. We take a holistic approach to sustainability, integrating environmental stewardship with social impact, ethical governance, and long-term economic resilience. We strive to foster a culture of inclusivity and well-being, support local communities, uphold the highest standards of integrity in our operations, and invest in innovation that drives meaningful change. Whether through responsible sourcing, fair employment practices, or reducing our environmental footprint, sustainability is embedded in every decision we make. Our aim is to contribute positively to society while building a stronger, more sustainable future for all.
Social
As part of our commitment to corporate social responsibility, TCP is proud to support initiatives that make a meaningful difference in our communities. Through sponsorships, partnerships, and volunteer efforts, we invest in projects that promote education, wellbeing, culture, and social inclusion.

HUGG
We are proud to be engaging in a two-year charity partnership with HUGG, Ireland’s national suicide bereavement charity. Our colleagues have the opportunity to contribute to a Salary Donation Scheme, with all donations matched by the company. We are honoured to stand with HUGG in their mission to ensure that no one bereaved by suicide has to walk the path of grief alone. If your are interested to know more click here
What do we mean by DEI

Diversity
Diversity centres around awareness, understanding, acceptance and valuing the differences between us. By embracing and bringing together people with diverse backgrounds, roles and ideas, we drive innovation, ambition and collaboration. Championing diversity means creating an inclusive, supportive, respectful environment where everyone feels they really belong

Equity
Equity means constantly striving to find and break down bias, challenging ourselves to see our practices from new perspectives, and recognizing the way they impact different people. It’s how we create a fair, discrimination-free workplace where everyone’s merits are valued, everyone’s needs are supported and everyone has equal access to opportunities, information and resources.

Inclusion
Inclusion is about fostering a sense of belonging, and an open-minded, accepting workplace where everyone feels heard and valued. We work hard to create a sense of real psychological safety for our people – a feeling of trust
and confidence that empowers them to be themselves, speak up, share ideas, be vulnerable, disagree openly and raise concerns without fear.

Environmental
At TCP, a PHOENIX company, we are deeply committed to sustainability, embedding eco-conscious practices across our operations. We actively reduce our environmental footprint through innovation and responsible resource management—from fleet emissions to energy efficiency. Our local environmental committee champions continuous improvement to aligning our efforts with national ambitions and global sustainability standards. As a company we are doing what it takes to be greener!

HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil)
As of Apr25, TCP is currently piloting the use of HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) in our nursing fleet where there is suitable infrastructure. This has the potential for reducing greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90% compared to conventional diesel.

HaPPE Aprons
We are delighted to announce another step in our sustainability focus by moving from complete reliance on plastic aprons to CE approved compostable HaPPE Aprons.
In Jul24, medical device compliant and compostable bio resin aprons were phased into TCP. As of Jun25 we have used over 10k rolls. This equates to 1.5 million aprons that are compostable as opposed to plastic going to landfill!

Electric Vehicles (EV)
Our staff travel nationwide and where feasible we have swapped our teams diesel cars for electric vehicles and this includes the installation of home charging stations.
TCP has been working to integrate EVs into our fleet since 2022 and as of Jun25 we have achieved our goal of transitioning all eligible vehicles in our fleet to EV based on current Irish infrastructural capacity. We are now turning our efforts to HVO.
